Today was library day, and Grandma didn't want to hear Max screaming all the way there in the car, so she started a game for Gabe and Joe. (If looks could kill ...)
If Max didn't scream the whole way to the library, Gabe and Joe would get a dollar each! For every time he screamed, Grandma would subtract 25 cents. Same for the drive back. So the boys had the opportunity to earn $2 each.
Unfortunately, to their disappointment, Max screamed a couple of times both ways!
But, Grandma generously gave them two screams for the price of one, so the boys earned $1.50 each ... and Grandma didn't have to listen to as much screaming!

Well, I guess this is our last big library trip with Joe for the summer!
We are nearly finished reading Wayside School is Falling Down, and I guess that will be our last book.
Guess who finally got his package in the mail today!
And guess who didn't get anything?
