Consumer Science.

Today was our first day of co-op for spring semester!  Max woke up in the car.  We took Gabe in to his 9:00 class, then went back out to sit in the car together ...

Max observed the pouring rain, then told me, "It's gonna turn off soon."  This made me laugh, and I asked, "You mean it's going to stop raining soon?"  He nodded as if he were absolutely certain (just like the day he told me confidently and nonchalantly that the moon was going to blow up).

Today we talked about tricks in advertising, and how to design science experiments to test the effectiveness of products ...

I wasn't sure how well this lesson would be received, since this is the paragraph Gabe wrote after we tried the experiment at home!  (He was mad about having to write a paragraph, and he told me after that he was just kidding ...)

Table from the experiment.

Afterward we had a playdate with the Lanes (family of five kids) -- always fun!  Here's Max showing me his celery sticks.

The boy likes celery.

Hoarding technology ... Max wants to play with both the i-pad and the i-phone!
