Valentine's Day Cookies.

Gabe's having a Valentine's Day party at his school tomorrow, and the kids are supposed to bring a dozen cookies each.  Gabe is bringing jam thumbprints and Spiderman Valentine cards.  I set him up with the cards and the pencils and was impressed that he completed the multi-step task of writing each kid's name on a card, crossing it off a list, and attaching a pencil ...  No prompting or anything.  He just sat down and did it!

Easy Jam Thumbprints

1 cup butter

3 oz cream cheese

1 cup sugar

1 egg yolk

3 tsp vanilla

2 1/2 cups flour

seedless strawberry jam

Warm butter and cream cheese to soften, cream together with sugar.  Beat in egg yolk and vanilla.  Stir in flour, then put batter in fridge for an hour till it's easy to work with.  Shape into 1 inch balls, flatten, make indention in center.  Fill indention with 1/4 tsp jam.  Bake 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

• We studied for Gabe's math test over multiplication.
• Dan worked from home today.
• Went to library and picked up a few things at Wal-Mart.
• Realized I forgot to watch Lost last night.  So much for that.  Guess I'll be watching on Hulu at some point.
