Gabe, the soccer hero!

Green Dragons played the Blue Blastoids today ...

Gabe scored the first goal of the game!

Max likes to sit and watch soccer for about 5 or 10 minutes ... then he's done.

It turns out Gabe's goal was the only goal scored ... until the very last segment of the game!

We were 1-0 until the other team scored two goals in the last round, and it looked like we were going to lose.

Then Gabe scored another goal, tying the game!!  Wow!!  (This from a kid whose mother played every sport like it was dodgeball ...)  I'm so proud!

Grandma and Buddy spent the night in Brenham last night, so Maxie was happy to be reunited ...

Exciting game to watch.  These boys played well!!

Next stop was the CHA International Festival, where we got to learn about other countries.  Gabe tried his first egg roll and some Mexican hot chocolate ...

What a good day!

Pacifying Max.

Max has been such a happy boy lately!  It's been a really long time since he was sick ...

Until last night, when he vomited all over the place!

He never had a fever, and has no other signs of illness except being cranky!

Today he enjoyed putting on Gabe's old Captain America costume ...

He's getting bigger, and the 2T Wolverine is actually starting to give him a wedgie!

... who got to attend Max's big vomit party last night.

Gabe has been staying up late at night with insomnia ...

Also, he has been waking in the middle of the night, and staying awake till morning.

So, it's no wonder he is sick today.  He has had a low grade fever of 99-100, and missed soccer practice.

Max found a "Daddy" dinosaur to join the little family mentioned yesterday!

Max is well ... no fever so far.

These Disney books I bought, while not good to read, make great stacking toys.

Here's Max, playing with his dinosaurs and reading his favorite book about dinosaurs!

The book is called Dinosaur Roar.

He told me the dinosaurs were sleeping.

And he says that this is the Mama dinosaur, with the Gabe dinosaur and the baby Max dinosaur.

Renaissance Festival.

Driving through Magnolia to Plantersville, we saw large stretches of dead and burned-up trees from the fires.

We walked into the fest through an entryway filled with pounding electric noise and a fast-talking DJ.  Sort of incongruous with the festival theme!

This year I think "homeschool day" at the Ren Fest turned into "crazy public high school day!"  Busloads of HISD hooligans joined the usual crowd of meek elementary homeschoolers for the day.

Gabe wanted a funnel cake so bad ...

... and then he wanted to do the high jump!

Dad rolled the red wagon down the hill, and Gabe had to literally throw himself on it to keep it from crashing into the fence!

What a ride!

Max LOVED the petting zoo!  He wanted to touch all the animals, identify them, and ask questions about them.  He is clearly part of the target audience for petting zoos.

This pig was so fat and stinky, wallowing in feces and mud, and grunting.  Gabe said, "Mom, I dare you to touch it."
